Let me introduce myself

Hey ya'll! 
My name is Nikki, 22 year old, married, lover of all things DIY, cooking, gardening, and flip furniture. My husband Charlie and I are building our first home! I wanted to start a blog to document our adventures\experiences. We currently live in a camper with our black lab, Maggie. I love all things southern and try to keep many old traditions alive. Hey! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday! Over the weekend we made a ton of progress on our house. It's gotten me so motivated to work on things myself. I wanted to share a few things i've found on pinterest that has inspired me. If you'd like to check out my pinterest i'd really appreciate it! I have a bit of a pinterest problem. My Kitchen I love to cook, so i believe the kitchen should be special. It'll be the heart of our home and very probably the most used room in our home. My style is pretty simple but also very classy and pretty. I love wood elements, especially old wood. I love the story they tell. Building up

We have pilings! For the past almost 3 years, my husband, dog, and myself have been living in a pull behind travel trailer. We are and will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to live there and save money to build our home, but I WANT A HOUSE! It’s getting cramped and it’s a hard way to live! As of now, we have our pilings in the ground and they have passed inspection. Now, we can start on our floor joists. Now that the process has started it's moving along so quick! We live in a small community where everyone knows everyone and everyone slows down, yells, waves, and honks their horn as they drive by and see our progress. It's like everyone is just celebrating!  My husband Charlie, is such an amazing and hardworking man. I didn't mention before but, he is building our home! Loving Lately

Happy Monday friends! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, it was gorgeous here on the OBX. I've never done a "loving lately" post but I love to see what other people are loving so maybe you'll like to see mine.  1. Magnolia Table Hands down my favorite cookbook! It's so beautiful and well illustrated. Unfortunately, life has been so busy I haven't even had a chance yet to try out a new recipe. I'll keep ya'll posted though with my Magnolia Table review soon. 2. Cuisinart Knife Block Set     I had never seen white knives like theses before until I was just scrolling through amazon one day and stumbled upon them. They are beautiful and incredibly good quality, considering they're only $60! They cut so well! I get attached to my kitchen knives, they've got to be super sharp.
