Hello Friends! Our house now has all exterior walls and all framing of interior walls! We've been so busy, I haven't had a spare minute to post about it! Since all the interior framing has been completed, i've been obsessing over my pantry! I've never lived in a home that had a real pantry so as you can imagine I am beyond pumped. I love to cook and I love the idea of having a beautiful, organized pantry. I'll be the first to admit i'm not the most organized person in the world, but i'm so inspired. Here are some of what has been inspiring my pantry dreams.        I want all the baskets and jars! It just all seems so clean and put together.        I love the idea of baskets to hold baking pans. It makes so much sense.  I'd love to have a sliding barn door in front of our pantry as well. I think it would make such a statement in the space. My fabulous handyman of a husband started putting in out ceiling joists today, so I have a fee

Happy Tuesday! If you're reading this it means you survived Monday, so you're winning! I have a wonderful chocolate chip cookie recipe that I now know by heart because I have made it so many times. My Granny used to make all kinds of cookies to give to all the children in her church for different holidays, but this has always been my favorite she made. My husband also loves them. You can customize them by adding oatmeal, nuts, maybe even dried fruits. They're wonderful with only the chocolate chips though.  Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 1/4 cup flour 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 and 1 Tbsp dark brown sugar 2 sticks margarine 16 oz bag semi sweet chocolate chips 2 large eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla extract 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2.  Cream together margarine, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a stand mixer. 3.  Add in salt, baking soda, both eggs, and vanilla. 4.  Sift flour and add to wet mixture.

Hey ya'll! Since i'm still pretty new to this and everyone currently reading my blog don't really know me I thought i'd tell you a little about myself.  Family I am the second oldest of seven children. Yes, some are step but I claim them all. Samantha, me, Kate, Caroline, Mattie, Donovan, and Sophia. Poor Donovan is the only boy in a sea of woman. Hey! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday! Over the weekend we made a ton of progress on our house. It's gotten me so motivated to work on things myself. I wanted to share a few things i've found on pinterest that has inspired me. If you'd like to check out my pinterest i'd really appreciate it! I have a bit of a pinterest problem. My Kitchen I love to cook, so i believe the kitchen should be special. It'll be the heart of our home and very probably the most used room in our home. My style is pretty simple but also very classy and pretty. I love wood elements, especially old wood. I love the story they tell. I would love to have all white everything in our kitchen but, my husband doesn't agree. I knew i'd have to make sacrifices somewhere so there it is. Happy beautiful Friday! Since i'm still new here, i thought i'd use "five on friday" to show you five things i'd like to make future posts on. 1. Our bathroom Vanity Project We have an old wash stand that we plan on turning into a vanity in our guest bathroom. When we got it, it was TRASH. I am in no way kidding. It was in terrible condition. I will be going through the whole process of refurbishing it soon. 2. My first chalk paint experience I know, I know! I'm jumping onto this band wagon LATE! Chalk paint has now been around and popular for a few years. I finally broke down and decided to use it for a project i'm really excited to talk about. The chalk paint I used can be found  here . I will be reviewing the paint itself as well. 3. Cooking In my "let me introduce myself' post i had mentioned I was a lover of cooking. I LOVE cooking. It is such a rewarding task to me. We have pilings! For the past almost 3 years, my husband, dog, and myself have been living in a pull behind travel trailer. We are and will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to live there and save money to build our home, but I WANT A HOUSE! It’s getting cramped and it’s a hard way to live! As of now, we have our pilings in the ground and they have passed inspection. Now, we can start on our floor joists. Now that the process has started it's moving along so quick! We live in a small community where everyone knows everyone and everyone slows down, yells, waves, and honks their horn as they drive by and see our progress. It's like everyone is just celebrating!  My husband Charlie, is such an amazing and hardworking man. I didn't mention before but, he is building our home!
