Loving Lately

Happy Monday friends! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend, it was gorgeous here on the OBX. I've never done a "loving lately" post but I love to see what other people are loving so maybe you'll like to see mine. 

1. Magnolia Table

Hands down my favorite cookbook! It's so beautiful and well illustrated. Unfortunately, life has been so busy I haven't even had a chance yet to try out a new recipe. I'll keep ya'll posted though with my Magnolia Table review soon.

2. Cuisinart Knife Block Set
   

I had never seen white knives like theses before until I was just scrolling through amazon one day and stumbled upon them. They are beautiful and incredibly good quality, considering they're only $60! They cut so well! I get attached to my kitchen knives, they've got to be super sharp. I want to be able to cut through a piece of paper if i'm feeling it. I 10/10 recommend these knives, you can purchase them here.

3. Mark Anthony Grow Long Shampoo and Conditioner
Recently I picked these up at our local CVS just because I needed some new shampoo and conditioner and hey are amazing! They leave my hair feeling so smooth and really keep frizz at bay. They are made to make your hair 'grow long' which will be great as well but for now they're making my shower experience wonderful. Try it out for yourself! You can find it here.

4. Tarte Frixxxtion Stick
I only recently got into nice skin care products and makeup and since that occurrence I discovered this through a guy at work and it's amazing. It exfoliates your skin just enough and leaves my skin feeling so so clean! I have combination skin, some places are really dry and some are oily and the frixxxtion stick really helps with both. We have pilings! For the past almost 3 years, my husband, dog, and myself have been living in a pull behind travel trailer. We are and will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to live there and save money to build our home, but I WANT A HOUSE! It’s getting cramped and it’s a hard way to live! As of now, we have our pilings in the ground and they have passed inspection. Now, we can start on our floor joists. Now that the process has started it's moving along so quick! We live in a small community where everyone knows everyone and everyone slows down, yells, waves, and honks their horn as they drive by and see our progress. It's like everyone is just celebrating!  My husband Charlie, is such an amazing and hardworking man. I didn't mention before but, he is building our home! The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Happy Tuesday! If you're reading this it means you survived Monday, so you're winning! I have a wonderful chocolate chip cookie recipe that I now know by heart because I have made it so many times. My Granny used to make all kinds of cookies to give to all the children in her church for different holidays, but this has always been my favorite she made. My husband also loves them. You can customize them by adding oatmeal, nuts, maybe even dried fruits. They're wonderful with only the chocolate chips though.  Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 1/4 cup flour 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 and 1 Tbsp dark brown sugar 2 sticks margarine 16 oz bag semi sweet chocolate chips 2 large eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla extract 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2.  Cream together margarine, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a stand mixer. 3.  Add in salt, baking soda, both eggs, and vanilla. 4.  Sift flour and add to wet mixture.

My Home Inspiration

Hey! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday! Over the weekend we made a ton of progress on our house. It's gotten me so motivated to work on things myself. I wanted to share a few things i've found on pinterest that has inspired me. If you'd like to check out my pinterest i'd really appreciate it! I have a bit of a pinterest problem. My Kitchen I love to cook, so i believe the kitchen should be special. It'll be the heart of our home and very probably the most used room in our home. My style is pretty simple but also very classy and pretty. I love wood elements, especially old wood. I love the story they tell. I would love to have all white everything in our kitchen but, my husband doesn't agree. I knew i'd have to make sacrifices somewhere so there it is.
